Today’s Scripture: Philippians 1:28
One of my favorite Bible verses has to be the 28th verse of the first chapter in the book of Philippians. It clearly talks about constancy and fearlessness for us as believers. Paul writes saying, “Don’t be intimated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.” Do you see that? Your confidence in the face of confrontation is a deal breaker for the devil. He cannot go on with his gimmicks and tricks once he’s aware of your unshakeable faith in God.
Usually, when we claim to have faith in God, we are praying under our breaths to stay far from all forms of trouble and worries. However, faith is not truly tested until we come in contact with such situations. The purpose of faith, as someone said, is not to prevent us from trouble but to carry us through trouble and present us as more than conquerors at the end of it all. When we are faced with depressing situations, we should stand and remain firm and confident that everything will turn out in our favor.
Take a look at that verse again. It says this confidence, this constancy, and fearlessness, are signs that the devil will fail. He suddenly realises, “Oh my! This person knows who s/he is. Now I cannot intimidate him/her”. You know what? Continue to trust in God and continue to hold on.
Prayer Point: Jesus, help me to never stop trusting you and to stand strong in faith, come what may. Amen.
