Be Diligent in your Business

Do you see a man who is diligent in his business?
Today’s Scripture: 2 Chronicles 2:7

While building the temple, Solomon worked with men who were skilled in their field. What strikes me about this verse is the fact that the word “skilled” was mentioned. The people who were chosen were not just ordinary people with no training; they were masters in their crafts, and they were good at what they did. Did you know? God has something deposited on the insides of each and every one of us.

There are things which come to you naturally, and you happen to be just good at them. For some other things, you train and you find out that you are good at them too. When we devote time to be diligent to develop our gifts and abilities, we become skilled at them. So yes, talent is never enough. We need to take time out to be dedicated and diligent. The Bible confirms this by saying “Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”

Let us do the work needed today so we can reap the rewards tomorrow.

Action Point: Think of your current level of dedication to the development of your gifts and abilities, and begin to work even harder at them.
