Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:7
The Amplified Version of the Bible helps us to see the above verse in a wonderful light. It says, “For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.”
Another word that can be used in place of “regulate” is “normalize”. What this means is that we become normal (as a spiritual being) by faith. We get ourselves under control by faith. We are seen as normal and in right positioning when we walk by faith. Consequently, when we judge our lives by the things we see – the circumstances, the ups and downs, the Bible infers that we are not normal.
We are not created to live life based on fickle feelings and emotions; we are to live life based on what the Word of God says. So, if you are sick in your body, unto the point of death, and the Word of God says you are healed, that Christ bore your sicknesses, and that you will be satisfied with long life, you are expected to believe the Word of God!
The Word of God says no weapon formed against you shall prosper! Look the enemy in the eye and tell him that you walk by faith in the Word of the only true God and that he has nothing on you. Look the enemy in the eye and let him know that you choose to live life based on the truth and not on the tricks of the father of lies and the accuser of the brethren, the fallen angel with no status to call his own.
You have the weapon of victory in your hands. Make use of it. Do not walk or live after sight or appearance. Appearance can be anything, but faith will stand.
Action Point: Begin to confess your walk by faith and not by sight. It is not what you see with my physical eyes; it is what you see in the spiritual.
