HE IS ALIVE!
Today's Scriptures: John 11:25-26, Matthew 24
I like how Luke 24 begins in the Bible. We see the transition of the glorious moments from darkness to light even by the words that were used. Most verses say “But on Sunday morning” and some of them say “that Sunday morning.” In all the ways that these verses interpret the resurrection of our king, you could tell that something was about to take place.
Of course, the tomb had been rolled away, and the One who was already condemned as dead, gone, and defeated was back to make an open show of death! Colossians 2:14-15 (TPT) says,
14 He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.
15 Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!
Do you see that? Jesus literally said to death, “Hello, powerless and defeated.” And today, we conclude the Easter series by understanding that death has lost its power. Death is no longer the conclusion. As soon as our Jesus resurrected, power changed hands. One of the anchor scriptures for today says,
I am the Resurrection, and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever.
And the one who lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
You have victory over death! Congratulations!
