Faith is Sustained by Faith II

If a door opens by faith,
it will be kept open by faith.
Today's Scripture: Hebrews 11:29

Yesterday, we talked about the Israelites and the Egyptians in the face of the Red Sea. Have you ever had to trust God for something you knew was impossible by every logic? Did you come to realize that holding on to God for that thing/new level was only possible by faith? Now, if you have experienced that kind of situation, you began to wonder at how amazing God is. Now, in most cases, when you find yourself in this “new level”, different situations occur and it gets to a point when you feel like you are at a cross road. At this point, what do you do?

What I realized from the story of the Israelites and Egyptians was that God had intentionally delivered them from Pharaoh because they believed he would. However, when they got to the Red Sea, they began to complain. They said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt? Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!'” (See Exodus 14). They were angry; they forgot so quickly about the One who had brought them that far. But Moses – Moses still had faith, and so he said, “The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm” (Exodus 14:!4).

Moses knew that God was too much of God to leave them astray. Therefore, because the things written before now are written for our learning, we see from the story that God intentionally opened the doors of liberation to the people of Israel, and he only kept those doors open because they believed in him.

Has God brought you to a new phase of life? Do not be so quick to conclude that His “duty” ends there. If God has brought you there, trust him to keep you there, and to stay with you throughout the journey. He is the God that has made and that will bear (Isaiah 46:4). Do not let circumstances tell you otherwise.

Prayer Point: Father, I thank you for bringing me thus far. I refuse to get so used to this stage of my life, so much that I forget that you were the one who brought me here. I refuse to entertain logic and strategies to sustain me, if faith has started it. Today, I rekindle my faith in you. I trust you Lord to do _____ and ______ because I know that you are in this world with me in Jesus Name. Amen.
