Forget about what the world sees today.
"What does God see?
Today's Scripture: 1 Corinthians 4:4-5
I like how these verses read, but more importantly, I like the not-so-convenient lesson that Paul tries to point out to us. He says in verse 5, “resist the temptation to pronounce premature judgment on anything before the appointed time when all will be fully revealed. Instead, wait until the Lord makes his appearance, for he will bring all that is hidden in darkness to light and unveil every secret motive of everyone’s heart. Then, when the whole truth is known, each will receive praise from God” (TPT).
As much as we live in a world where we are quick to judge people, to pick specks out of other people’s eyes, and to swim in the approval of people, these verses tell us that what really matters in our lives is the approval of God. One of my brothers-in-law once showed me a particular verse – 1 Corinthians 3:18. The KJV says, “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in the world, let him become a fool that he may be wise.” Indeed, God’s standards is not our standards, and it is in our best interest to follow His standards, knowing fully well that he would judge us in that manner.
Action Point: Look inwards. Forget about what the world sees today. Ask yourself, “What does God see?”
