Knowing God by His Names

Knowing God
Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 22:1

In the above verse, the Bible tells us about a good name.

I have heard time and again, but I never really knew, the power behind knowing as much as many names of our God as I do now. The name ‘Jesus’ in today’s world is used by non-believers as a curse word, with no reverence at all. However, the name of Jesus is powerful and potent in the mouth of the one who reverences Him. Haven’t you heard? The name of the Lord is a strong tower. You and I run into it and we are safe!

Here are a few names of God you should know: Father, Friend, Comforter, Advocate, Peace, Protector, Deliverer, Healer, Lord, Savior, Strength, Shepherd, Redeemer, Lifter of my head, Eternal life, Wisdom, Joy, Victor and so on. Some of us who are bilingual or multilingual understand that God owns many powerful praise names in our dialects. These names are potent and are powerful when we reverence God with them. Do you know the amusing thing? God always answers to His name.

When in trouble, remember to call upon your Peace. When in distress, reach out to the Comforter. When weak, call the Strength. When you are sad and downcast, call upon your Joy! God’s power is ever available to you in EVERY situation. Call Him today.

Hallelujah!

Action Point: Thank God for being ever present and call upon Him today.
