Unto whom will I cry?
Who would help?
Who would listen when my hands are chained?
The one true God
My only help in ages past
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 121
God is a good God. He is a God of help too, and he wants to direct each and every one of us in the best paths for our lives.
In the Psalm above, the psalmist does the most amazing thing – he seeks God. In verse two, he boldly acknowledges that his “help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
When you read through this psalm, you see that God is our keeper and our shield. Do you realize that your God was your help in ages past and He is even today, and there is no other God like him? It really does not matter what may be going on in your life at this moment. The truth is that God is your ever present help, and He is always ready to come running when you call.
It is easy to doubt this or to place it at the far ends of our minds, such that we are quick to forget that this Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Action Point: Confess Psalm 121, substituting “your” for “my” e.g. “The sun will not harm you by day” as “The sun will not harm me by day”. Go ahead and speak into the atmosphere!
