Wear the most fitting garment
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 147:1
Praising God is an amazing thing to do! In the above psalm, the psalmist says it is good to sing praises to our God. Much more, he says it is delightful and it is fitting! Have you ever tried on a piece of clothing, some shoes, or even a hat, and you look at yourself in the mirror – suddenly, a smirk comes on your face because what you see fits you really well. That’s exactly how praise is to our lives. It is fitting. I want you to take a moment and think about that. It means praise does not just look good to the One who is being praised; it also looks very good on the praiser. A man like King David was an unashamed praiser and no one could make him feel bad about it. In fact, it was the other way round. When Saul’s daughter mocked David for praising and dancing to God like a child, she was punished by God.
So, do not let anyone talk you out of singing God’s praise all of the days of your life. It’s not old school; it’s not boring; it’s not unnecessary; it’s not just for pastors; it’s for you, and it is one of the best garments you could ever wear.
Prayer: Lord, help me to praise me continually all of the days of my life in Jesus name.
