Invest in others
Today's Scripture: Philippians 2:1-4
One of the things that people are thankful for when you ask them to tell their stories is the fact that they had persons who showed up in their lives at the most unexpected times. It is golden to receive help. However, even more golden are the moments of offering help.
In today’s scripture, the Bible says in verse four, “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too,” In the preceding verses, we are asked a few questions and given a few instructions too:
1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?
2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.PHIILIPPIANS 2:1-3 (NLT)
When we do as these verses admonish, we set up ourselves for God’s blessings. We become instruments of His Love and His Grace wherever we find ourselves, and that is an extension of our salvation.
Action Point: This week, do not just ask for help from God, ask God to show you ways in which you can invest in someone else, and be on the lookout for opportunities to serve.
Remember, as a believer, you make the world better just by being in it.
