Those who look to him for help
Will be radiant with joy
No shadow of shame
Will darken their faces
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 34
Did you know? Did you know that if you looked to God, if you kept your focus on Him, if you chose to trust Him in every situation, then He will make you radiant and shame will be far from you? When you take a look at the verses prior to verse five in the above mentioned psalm, you see that some actions were in place before the radiance. Also, the Psalmist gives us deeper nuggets about a life with Christ.
1. Bless the Lord! Praise! At all times…
Whether in dancing and in singing or in word of mouth, it is our duty and should be a great thing to do to praise Jesus! Let this be your new breath sentence: I BLESS YOU LORD. Say it again, I BLESS YOU LORD.
2. Boast in the Lord
The Psalmist encourages us to testify, to evangelize, to boast in the goodness of the Lord of Armies, the King of Kings is His name! Like Paul, we should be able to say, “may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Galatians 6:14).
It can never be overemphasized that the altar of prayer is the altar of help. The Psalmist called upon the Lord and He freed him from all his fears and troubles. Is there something you are afraid or worried about? Pray!
4. Study His Word
Yes, read your Bible. Know the words and voice of your Savior, get to know all He has done for you and all that He expects of you. In required situations, use helpful materials such as devotionals, inspired books, videos, podcasts etc.
5. Fear Him.
It is an amazing thing to revere and worship the Master. As in verse 9, we are told that those who fear God will have all they need.
6. Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit (verse 13)
7. Seek, inquire, crave and pursue peace…and above all, love Him!
Confession: I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. I BLESS YOU LORD!
