The Wisdom of God

The Wisdom of God is first of all pure

Today’s Scripture: James 3:17-18

The NLT version of today’s scripture says, “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.” Divine wisdom is real, and God gives it liberally to His children. We can ask for God for the wisdom to handle situations of life, and even more, to live according to His will for our lives.

For instance, as the above verses say, “Wisdom shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” What this means is that God wills for you and me to treat people equally – to refuse to esteem one person over another due to social status. It is wisdom to treat everyone equally. In other words, when we place particular people in high esteem at the expense of another, we are exhibiting foolishness, and another thing is that a sincere/truthful/honest heart and mouth will confirm God’s wisdom in our lives.

Action Point: In what ways are you living in divine wisdom? In what areas of life do you need to live according to God’s wisdom? Ask for wisdom in those areas and ask God to help you live in accordance to His will for you in Jesus name. Amen.
