Trust God
Today’s Scripture: Mark 4:35-39

Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” This can be likened to moments of God calling us out of our comfort zones into a new place or out of our current phases into a new season. As Jesus said this in Mark, the disciples got prepared and followed the Master in the boat.

While in the middle of their voyage, a mighty storm came. All of the disciples were frightened. The waves were furious and in full force, and guess what Jesus was doing? Sleeping.

While moving from one level of life to another, you may be hit with a storm and in this storm, it seems like God is asleep. You pray and pray and nothing happens. It is almost as if your prayers have not gone beyond the roof of your room. It is the midnight hour and you do not know what to do about it. Here is what to do: TRUST JESUS.

You may think your boat is sinking and you are going to die, but remember that Jesus is in that boat and He said “Let us go over to the other side.” He did not say, “Let us go to the middle of the sea to die.” He promised a new season and if God says yes, there is not one born who would say no?

It is therefore vital to keep your eyes off the storm and on the Saviour. Indeed, His promises are Yes and Amen.

Confession: Father, I choose not to keep my eyes on the storm again. I keep my eyes on You and I believe that Your promises are true.
